For more than 50 years, Yvonne Williams-Jones has been a dedicated and compassionate member of the Mercy Hospital family. She began her journey at Mercy in the Intensive Care Unit and IMCU as an evening secretary before moving on to serve in a variety of departments, including the Medical/Surgical floor and Physical Therapy Department. When Mercy opened its first Outpatient Therapy Office in 1990, Yvonne worked part time in the evenings while continuing her full-time role in Physical Therapy. She also briefly assisted the Respiratory Department with patient scheduling before transferring to the Rehabilitation Unit in the mid-1990s, where she continues to serve today as an Administrative Associate with the same warmth and devotion that has defined her entire career.
Throughout the years, Yvonne has been an enthusiastic participant in many of Mercy’s events and outings, including the Corporate Challenge and various hospital trips. Outside of work, she cherished traveling with her late husband, James, and spending time with her family.
Her deep faith and commitment extend beyond the hospital walls. Yvonne and James were active RCIA educators at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Malverne, and she remains a devoted member of the parish’s Nocturnal Adoration group.
Yvonne is a proud mother to her daughter Danielle, mother-in-law to Leroy, and loving grandmother to Maiya. She considers Mercy Hospital her “home away from home” and finds great joy in helping others benefit from all that Mercy has to offer.
