For more than 85 years, the women of the Mercy Hospital Council of Leagues have exemplified the true spirit of compassion, generosity, and service. Through their unwavering dedication and commitment to Mercy Hospital, they have helped strengthen the hospital’s mission while making a lasting difference in the lives of countless patients and their families.
Through years of fundraising and generous contributions, the League ladies have provided more than $600,000 in support over the past two decades alone. Their generosity has helped bring innovative medical technology and equipment to Mercy, enhance patient comfort and care, and support critical departments throughout the hospital. Their contributions have included advanced stroke rehabilitation systems, state-of-the-art wheelchairs, NICU recliners, patient monitoring equipment, therapeutic chairs for oncology patients, and nursing scholarships, to name a few.
Beyond their support of patient care, the League also helps invest in the future of healthcare through the Sister Mary Grace Fund, which provides scholarships to students pursuing careers in healthcare-related fields.
For over eight decades, the League ladies have been more than supporters of Mercy Hospital; they have been valued partners in its mission and an enduring source of hope and comfort for our community. Their remarkable legacy is reflected not only in the equipment and programs they have made possible, but in the countless lives touched by their kindness and generosity.
It is with tremendous gratitude and admiration that we recognize the Mercy Hospital Council of Leagues as the recipient of the Sister Mary Nadine Casey, CIJ Award, honoring their extraordinary legacy of service, generosity, and steadfast devotion to Mercy Hospital.
